Description

Join us for an Ask Me Anything on AI Ethics and Responsible Implementation — a conversation about what ethical AI looks like in practice, how to navigate real-world challenges, and where to go to learn more.

This session is designed for early-career professionals who want to deepen their understanding of responsible AI, bias, fairness, and transparency. Our guest experts will share real-world examples, useful frameworks, and insights into how teams can balance innovation with harm reduction across different roles and industries.

Come ready to learn, ask questions, and explore what it means to build AI responsibly.

We'll be joined by Nafisa Sadaf Hriti, an AI researcher and graduate student specializing in Natural Language Processing, explainability, and ethical applications of machine learning in healthcare. Her work focuses on building transparent, trustworthy AI systems, with recent projects exploring frailty detection from clinical notes and NLP models for the healthcare domain. She is also an intern at a US-based HealthAI startup, Medwatch Technologies. As an international student from Bangladesh, Nafisa is passionate about mentorship, community building, and helping others navigate academic and professional pathways in AI.

Nafisa is excited to share her expertise and discuss topics such as:

- How AI and tech can provide value to clinicians

- What ethical AI looks like in real, high-stakes contexts

- How to we balance innovation with patient safety

- What it means to build a career as an international student, and how resilience, identity, and opportunity shape that journey

- How networking and community can play a transformative role in breaking into the AI field

- What it takes to stand out in today’s competitive AI landscape, from technical depth to communication, curiosity, and interdisciplinary thinking.
