Over the course of the week, we invite Canadians to gather in schools, libraries, friendship centres, museums, and other community places to learn about and celebrate the history of Canada.
We will equip educators with materials and training to deliver coding lessons during the week that will bring Canadian stories to life, digitally! No coding experience necessary.
On July 1st, we will reveal a digital scrapbook collection of student projects that celebrate Canada’s 150 years - reimagined through the eyes of our youth.
How to participate
Want to teach a coding lesson?
We’re training educators and delivery partners to host and run coding lessons in the classroom and in their communities across the country. No coding experience necessary. Our lessons and training are designed for non-technical educators to empower learners to bring their own unique perspective and voice to the telling of our shared Canadian history through code.
Want to volunteer?
We’re building a team of volunteers across the country to support lessons happening during the week. If you’re technical or passionate about technology and learning, we’d love to have you join us as a volunteer during the week.
Canada Learning Code Week is a Canada 150 initiative supported by the Department of Canadian Heritage and Boeing.
