For every workshop, have at least 3 breakout rooms. Party, Tech, and 1 breakout room. Party room is to involve the Instructors, Mentors, and learners before the start of the experience. Tech room is to be used for attempting to troubleshoot when a learner is having tech issues, to be sent with 2 Mentor or an Instructor and a Mentor. 1 breakout room is to be used as a regular breakout room!
Prepare with the Instructor. Make sure you know when breakout rooms are happening, and how long each breakout room will be.
Always make sure you are using the most up to date version on Zoom
Keep your laptop operating system up to date as well
If possible, use a 2nd monitor
Try to keep your background as neutral as possible if you don’t have virtual backgrounds enabled
The more meetings you run, the easier it will become
You set the speed of the workshop start. If you’re not ready, it makes it difficult to move forward. Be confident and give yourself time to prepare.
